The Procurement Management Unit (PMU) is one among the Units reporting performance of its functions to the Vice Chancellor. The Unit has three sections,Procurement Section, Inventory Management and Control Section and Logistics Section located in Dar-es-salaam.These three sections together constitutes the University Procurement Management Unit.

The Unit is one of the fastest growing Unit of the university. It now has a staffing of over fifteen most of who are professionals in procurement or pursuing professional courses.

The Unit is headed by the Head of Procurement Management Unit whose career in the area spans over two decades. The Unit has one Principal Procurement and Supplies Officer who is a Head of the Logistics and Supplies Section and three Senior Procurement and Supplies Officers: one in charge of the Inventory Control Section and the other two are in charge and Deputy in charge of the Procurement Section.

The Department wishes to announce that, it is currently undergoing fundamental reformation in order to conform to the University restructuring situation and the Public Procurement Act, 2011. The reformation will also enable the Unit to effectively and positively contribute to the University Mission, Vision and Strategic Plan 2017-2022.
